ARCHAEOLOGY

Matrix Heritage brings together archaeologists with a great deal of experience in pre-colonial Indigenous and historical archaeology of Ontario.

Matrix’s staff has a long history of archaeological work on public, private, and federal lands for various assessment processes. From hydroelectric projects with terrestrial and underwater archaeology on the Trent-Severn Waterway, extensive hand excavations on Parliament Hill, multi-month mitigations at Point Pelee National Park, and with over 400 development related projects completed, reviewed, and accepted by the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism to date, Matrix’s staff has extensive experience working with proponents, federal land holders, approval authorities, stakeholders, and First Nations communities on a wide variety of archaeological projects.
